Masih Menerima RM450 Sebulan Tanpa Elaun Selama 15 Tahun.......

Zulhaidah Suboh

My anak, anak and my cucu, cucu; The retired Chikgu shared with me a comment from one of our brothers, in which I am not hesitate to share with you.SEB and SARAWAK Government said, "Murum dam is the model for all other dams.

" This means whatever they do in Murum it will be done for all the other dams to come. That is regarding compensation etc.

So now we know what the affected people in Murum get. Asoooo bale... @ RM15,000 per family (one off payment) & then RM850 per month for 4 years. So what is all about, for some foolish people in Baram are so excited with. How cheap can one be!

The minimum income level before poverty in Malaysia is RM3,000 per family per month.Ha Ha Ha He he heeeee. Aso bale’….You are really funny.

If we accept this that means we are no better now than the days of Aban Kian in Long Akah when he normally said, "sau-tuah', or maybe of what former YB Lihan Jok controversial comment, “Baram dam a gift of god”.

Just imagine what the affected people have to sacrifice in order to get that! Not only in properties but on land rights etc. etc. etc. Just RM40,800 + RM15,000 = RM55,800.

Not enough to buy a small, 3 rooms, single storey, intermediate, terrace house.

You do not have to be bank officer or holding degree in chartered accountant or a rocket scientist to understand the amount at RM850 per month per family for 4 years at this generation is simply not enough to support a family.

If anyone of us say, their families can survive with RM850, that’s totally a big piece of lie. Just imagine, standard salaries of a Ketua Kampong are RM450 per month.

I hardly see any of our Ketua Kampong can owns big mansions, Hilux etc..if it is not from his extra incomes from timber or oil palm companies.

Even the salaries of an Indonesian amah is RM750.00 per month is not enough for her to buy a small, 3 rooms, single storey, intermediate, terracehouse when she returns to Indonesia at the end of her contract.

Needless to mention, I am still earning RM450 from State Government since 15 years ago without any increment and incentive.

My anak, anak and my cucu, cucu, I’ve many friends and relatives living in Murum. Everyone told me the same miseries they are going through.

Some already migrated but majority stays, in protecting their rights. But why our leaders are do not understand the real situations, instead believe every words came out from the mouth of none other than the Taib Mahmud.

If I am not mistaken, Taib Mahmud could have charmed all of our ketua meserakat to believe every single words that came out from his mouth. Marum dam is indeed the works of the devil. It is a horrible mistake in claiming Murum dam as 'gift from god'.
My anak, anak and my cucu, cucu…being your Tua Kampong, I feel hurt to see our hopes amount we leaders and ketua mesarakat are being fooled by SEB and Sarawak Government lead Taib Mahmud.

Beyond the shadow of doubt, all in leadership whatever or whoever you became leaders; you should have some knowledge about those things which affect the persons whom they lead.
Leadership is not about ball polishing Taib Mahmud and ignores the suffering of the rakyat.

To conclude my email to you today, I would like to share my thoughts with all my fellow community leaders in the Baram. My Sabila and some of you leaders, I call you Anak.

We leaders are nothing more than the self-preservation society. It’s more complicated than that.

Leadership is often seen as one person steering and directing many and many of the names that come to mind first when thinking of leaders are those of us are AJKK, Ketua Kampong, Penghulu, Pemancar, Tememengong. While many of us are in fact incredible leaders, humble leadership is not often why they are so well known.

Humble leadership requires a leader to lead without a desire for attention, for getting well known or for because famous due to that leadership.Another area that humble leaders lead is by example.

Leading by example can be done by any type of leader but it tends to be done by humble leaders more.

My Sabila, Anak, what about you, do you have examples of humble leadership in your life, can you enjoy the natural aspects of leadership in a humble way and how do your core values align with your style of leadership? In fact, we are picked lead our communities, not to wipe out our communities because of someone else lies and greed.

My anak, anak & my Cucu cucu, last but not least...anyone of you who have Facebook or Twitter, please help to distribute my comments to the whole world. I've copied SEB CEO, Denny Ngau etc...I hope they can include my comments in the wensite too.

Salam Hormat dari Orang Asal Sarawak
