RM21mil - Samsuddin's death case

KUALA LUMPUR: Broker Shahfrul Azrin Azman has lost his RM21mil defamation suit against The News Straits Times Press (M) Bhd and six others in relation to the Noritta Samsuddin's death case.

High Court Judge Justice Abdul Wahab Patail dismissed the suit with costs.

The 39-year-old has filed the suit on March 26, 2004, claiming that the newspapers portrayed him as the prime suspect in the case.

In his statement of claim, Shahfrul said the defendants had published stories and his photographs linking him to the death of marketing executive Noritta, and had directly or indirectly, or through insinuations, shown that he was the prime suspect.
